Superb 18K Gold verge with 4 colour gold decoration. By Dufalga, c1750

This is an 18K gold Swiss pocket watch which has a fusee and verge escapement. This watch has a fusee chain driven movement. These types of movements are extremely fragile and it is very easy to break the fusee chain if you have never handled one of these watches before and so consequently we do not cover this costly repair in the warranty.

Movement – the gilt full plate verge movement has square baluster pillars, a large finely pierced watch cock and a silver regulator disc. The movement is signed “Dufalga, Geneve” and is in 100% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a solid 18K gold open face case, which has a hinged bezel and the movement is wound and set from the front and is accessed from the front also. The case is decorated on the back with a large white, pink and yellow vase or urn full of white, pink, yellow and green flowers and fruit. The case has further flowers and fruit in 4 colour gold around the edges and back plus crisp engraving. The case has fluted edging and is in 100% mint condition

The case comes with its original gilt outer case decorated with shagreen and which has a glass back. The case does have patches of shagreen missing

Dial – the white enamel dial has a beautiful pair of gold filigree hands and the minute hand has the additional feature of an arched bridge, allowing it to clear the winding arbour. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch measures 48mm wide x 22mm deep
