Waltham pocket watch with revolving seconds. With Box c1930

This vintage Waltham pocket watch is in the typical Art Deco style with an elegant slim profile white gold filled case and an unusual dial which has a partially revealed disc which as it revolves indicates the seconds. The watch also comes in a stunning box from the period.

Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance, a micrometer regulator and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “A.W.W.Co, Waltham, USA, Adjusted, 17 Jewels” # 27144594. The movement is in 995 mint condition – superb condition

Case – the movement comes in a 14K white gold filled case by Waltham which has a hinged back and a snap on bezel. The case has carved edges and a striped engraving on the back with a small monogram for APG. The case is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

Dial – the silvered dial has a pair of fancy blue steel hands and raised gilt numbers. The dial has a brushed outer chapter ring with a polished centre. The dial has a partially revealed disc which as it rotates indicated the seconds. The dial is signed “Waltham” and is in 99% mint condition – again superb

The watch comes in a superb plush blue velvet box with gold metal trim. The inside is lined with silk and is signed “Waltham. First American Watch”
