    A striking image of the celebrated jazz trumpeter John Birks 'Dizzy' Gillespie (1917-1993) taken by the photographer Ted Leyson and used in a 1978 poster to advertise an exhibition of his work in the trendy restaurant "Hisae's in The Village Gate" (which specialised in serving lobster).

    Leyson began his career as a specialist music photographer but eventually gained notoriety as a paparazzo documenting the reclusive Greta Garbo and following her for the last ten years of her life.
