This interesting original colour lithograph by Hullmandel was published in 1834 by Colnaghi & Co. of Cockspur Street, "Printsellers Ordinary to His Majesty and to H.R.H. the Duchess of Kent." Below the title is an inscription "Emerging from the dense canopy of mist the Highwayman unexpectedly burst upon the York Stage. The moon shone bright on the rider and his mare. A gentleman on the box discharged his pistol and great was the confusion created by the report....." lithograph dated 1834.
