About this item
This hand painted tea bowl and saucer are decorated with floral swags and finished off with dark blue lines to the rims. The porcelain body has a greyish tinge to it. The tea bowl measures 82 mm (3.25 inches) in diameter, stands 51 mm (2 inches) high and is in very good condition. The saucer is 130 mm (5 1/8ths inches) in diameter and stands 31 mm (1.25 inches) high. The saucer has a small chip (3 x 3 mm or 1/8th x 1/8th of an inch) to the rim and a very fine hairline crack to the rim that runs for about 20 mm (.75 inch). There is also some faint damage to the glaze in the centre. It dates from around 1780 and was possibly made at Bristol.
