    An original woodcut portrait by Nicholson of the celebrated German statesman Count Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898). Later published in the series of "Twelve Portraits by William Nicholson" by William Heinemann in September, 1899. The subjects within "Twelve Portraits" included Nicholson's celebrated image of Queen Victoria.

    Printed on light-weight cream-coloured wove. Good condition. Slight crease to bottom right corner, small closed tear to right margin.
