    About this item

     Ivy Anne Ellis 1897-1984 was a wood engraver, woodblock printer and illustrator born in Birmingham the daughter of a public house manager. She was a Birmingham based artist with a studio in Edgbaston. Trained at the Birmingham School of Arts and Crafts working with Bernard Sleigh early in her career. She beacame a book illustrator and print maker using the woodcut, linocut and wood engraving techniques. She exhibited 27 times at the Royal Society of Arts, Birmingham between 1920 and 1939.
