The quirky 'Chemist Prints' series of Portmeirion wares started life in 1962 as a range called 'Medicine Prints'. For these designs Susan Williams-Ellis re-used 19th-Century copper plates which she had acquired as part of her purchase of Kirkham's Pottery in 1960.
