This is an antique serving table. An English, pitch pine hall table with Pugin-esque ecclesiastical taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
Appealing table of generous proportion and Gothic overtones. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Pitch pine shows fine grain interest throughout. Presents rich caramel hues beneath a wax polish finish.
Graced with a stout top, with a thickness of 4cm (1.5"). Fascinating forms to the large base with buttress supports and shaped toes. Corbel brackets sit above the front legs, accentuated with notch carvings to shoulders. Standing upon distinctive shaped feet to front, with H-stretcher uniting the square section rear feet.
This is a distinctive and appealing antique jointed side table, with ecclesiastical taste to the Pugin inspired forms. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
