    About this item

    This is an interesting round cameo depicting a group of Roman gods. The cameo is presumably cast in glass in two layers. This is clearly an imitation of a layered agate and of an ancient Roman gem, The glass under magnification and a strong light have hues of dark red/brown. It depicts eight Roman gods and an eagle next to a shield.
