About this item
A good pair of George III silver cauldron shape table salts with gadrooned rims, stepped hoofed feet with acanthus leaf terminals and fitted with blue glass liners. Hallmarked to the base, Dublin assay mark, the Hibernia standard mark and maker's mark for William Bond. No date mark, c.1785. Original owner's initials IMH also engraved on the underside.
They measure 4.7cm (1 7/8") high and 7.7cm (3") between the feet, 6.8cm (2 5/8") across the rims. Silver weight 155g / 5.0ozt (total weight with liners 243g).
In excellent condition with no damage or repairs and minor handling wear.
