This is an antique apothecary pill rolling machine. An English, mahogany and brass chemist's countertop instrument, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Fascinating example of an apothecary roller, with a desirable display appeal Displaying a wonderfully aged patina and in good original order Select stocks show fine grain interest, patination and rich russet hues Sloping base dressed with a brass rolling platform, with the alternating groove set upon the handle Arranged for 24 individual pills per batch, the chemist would roll the mixture and form them within the grooves
This is a superb antique pill rolling machine, once gracing an apothecary counter and now a wonderful decorative item. Delivered waxed, polished and ready to display.
