This is an antique pluviometer. An English, copper udometer, ombrometer or rain recorder, dating to the early Victorian period. Fascinating Victorian measurement device. Displays a desirable aged patina. Copper shows beautifully weathered ageing.
Outer sleeve serves as a holder for the rain collector and funnel. Inner measuring jug holds approximately 750mm. Conical funnel with long, 25cm (9.75') spout.
This antique pluviometer or rain recorder is a superb example of Victorian measuring equipment with appealing weathering. Delivered ready for the home.
