Pair Of Tall Lattice Window Panels, Natural And Red

Circa 1880, this pair of tall and narrow panels from Jiangsu Province, Suzhou, originally composed part of a large Chinese marital bed. Crafted with precision, the panels feature an open fretwork pattern representing a 'missing vase', with the lower panels showing intricately carved reliefs of florals and figures in battle. These lacquered panels boast an elegant two-tone finish, with intricate mother of pearl inlays adorning the darker hues of red and black, contrasted against the lighter elm wood frames. Perfect for adding a touch of refinement to any wall – hang them flanking a bed or fireplace for a breathtaking effect.
Sold as a pair, the price shown is for the two panels.
