    About this item

A 19th Century 'Bristol Blue' Glass Decanter of Elegant Tall Bottle Shape. The Sheffield Plate and Cork Stopper With Mother-Of-Pearl Plaque Engraved "Brandy"
    English, Regency-Victorian
    Circa 1830-1850

    Measures:-
31.5 cm high (36.5 cm inc. stopper)

A very attractive 19th Century 'Bristol blue' glass decanter. Late Georgian to early Victorian. Polished smooth base. The stopper of the period, with the mother-of-pearl label engraved "Brandy" in gothic lettering.

A super decorative and useful piece.

    Condition:-
Slight scratching to the outside commensurate with age and usage. Various lines of the levels of former liquids visible to the inside under close inspection. Nice authentic wear to the footrim. Old price/collector's label to the base (reads '25/6'). The cork old and worn, but fits tighly with a nice 'squeek' on insertion and removal (copper bleeding through the silver plate).
