Fine late 18th - early 19th century bronze statue of a cupid playing the pan pipes ,c1800. Sitting on a marble base this is most probably a grand tour piece. This is a good quality casting , heavy for its size at 1.1kg, and with fine detail to the face, torso etc . It has taken on great colour/patina following years of handling. The base is signed Clodion (or similar). Claude Michel Clodion is a noted French sculpture (1738-1814) . Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact me if you would like to view the item or have any questions.
