This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a gold seal which bears the armorial intaglio crest of a British earl.
The seal has a gunmetal base which has a detailed intaglio for an Earl, showing the union of two houses represented by the two ovals encircled by a wedding knot and below two clasped hands.
The shank has a domed base with a strut handle with applied wire work terminating in an oval suspension loop.
The seal measures 26mm high and the base is 25mm x 22mm
The seal is in 95% mint condition
