This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This seal has a simple shank with a square base. The base of the seal is gold on metal and is set with a crest. The handle is a simple gold tapered handle with a suspension loop. The seal measures 20mm x 12mm x 10mm. The seal is in 75% mint condition – the shank is showing age related wear and an idea would be to remove the stone and mount it in a ring
