This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a Georgian seal made of gilt metal
The carved handle has a suspension loop.
The square base has a claw fitting.
The base is set with a blue hard stone engraved with the name Thomas
The seal measures 23mm x 13mm x 12mm
The seal is in 90% mint condition – the handle leans to one side probably from the original Thomas who applied a bit to much force when stamping his name into sealing wax
