About this item
This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a metal seal covered in a layer of 15K gold. It is not solid gold.
The gold seal has a square base set with an opaque white stone which is carved with an intaglio of bird with a letter in its beak and the words in reverse “Responde Vite”
The seal has a ribbed gold base topped with a gold ball and a strut handle with engine turning topped with a suspension loop and another ball motif.
The seal measures 21mm x 16mm x 13mm and is in 90% mint condition – light rubbing to the engine turning on the handle and small areas on the seams on the base where you can see small traces of metal coming through
