    About this item

This is a Jacobean silver fob seal, dating to the early 17th century. It is decorated with a foliate handle of a chessman type design. The device consists of a round garnished shield, cut with the owner's initials "D.G." in Roman capitals. Sadly the tip of the suspension ring is missing, likely the reason for its loss.
