    About this item

This is a nice ancient Roman intaglio, dating to the 1st - 2nd century A.D. It is simply cut with an image of a leaping faun, carrying a bunch of grapes and a pedum (shepherds crook). The gem has a natural striation in the stone, this is not a crack or repair). A good intaglio that can still be remounted in a ring and worn again today.
