This is Swiss made J W Benson made for the English market which comes in an English 9K gold half hunter case which has clear gold assay marks and hallmarks for Birmingham 193o
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “J W Benson, 15 Jewels, Swiss Made” and is in 100% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a solid 9K gold half hunter case by Benson, which has a hinged front cover and snap on back. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition –one bruise on the side which is reflected in the price
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “J W Benson, London, Swiss Made.” The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass over the front cover and a plastic one in the smaller hole in the front cover.
The watch measures 49mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch comes in a leather silk and velvet lined J W Benson box
