A very rare and fine early 19th Century Georgian mahogany bureau bookcase, line inlaid throughout and with intricate marquetry depicting Neoclassical motifs of swags, garlands, flower heads and scrolling detail. The moulded stepped broken swan neck pediment raised over upper section with two doors with stunning marquetry depicting ribbon swags and a cornucopia of musical instruments, opening to reveal adjustable shelved section. The lower fall front section with beautiful centred urn flanked with swags of bellflowers, folding outwards to reveal writing surface and fitted interior with central locking door flanked with four cubby holes, two long drawers and six short drawers. Supported on base with two short drawers and three long graduated drawers, all cock beaded with decorative brass escutcheons and swan neck handles, terminating on ogee bracket foot.
