The massive jug stands 11 1/8 " tall x 8 " wide. Rare to find a matched set in this superior pattern and in such pristine condition.
This exceptional pattern features large stalks and foliage of Bamboo with a scrolled cartouche of flowering Cherries and a vignette of Birds in flight. Both pieces have exotic Egrets in flight. Spectacular !
The piece is marked on the underside with the pattern name that identifies the maker as Edge and Malkin, a pottery maker working in the Staffordshire region of England during the 19th century.
The pieces are in EXCELLENT condition, clean shiny and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. It is absolutely gorgeous - elegant and well potted, with richly detailed transfers reflecting the Victorian love of the exotic.
