    About this item

An attractive late Georgian silver fish slice of rectangular shape with pierced and engraved decoration to depict two entwined fish in a shaped reserve. Further bright cut engraved detailing around the handle terminal and edging the slice. Fiddle shape handle with a small armorial of a raised arm in armour holding a dagger. Hallmarked for Dublin 1823, maker Samuel Neville.

    It measures 29.2cm (11 1/2") long, 7.3cm (2 7/8") wide and 4.5cm (1 3/4") high to the handle. It weighs 156g / 5.0ozt.

In very good condition: there is a short split across one of the fish's tails. No repairs and minor handling wear, the marks and engraving are nice and clear. The slice itself has very slight distortion from age and use. A stylish piece, ready for use.
