This late Victorian 9 1/8 inch plate is transfer printed in blue against an off white background showing good detail and good contrast, further enhance by an artist hand coloring the image.
The rare raised plate is from the Early English 12 Months Series was designed by Helen J. A. Miles, an artist extraordinaire at the Wedgwood factories. This particular plate depicts the month of Jun and features a young boy and girl at rest in a harvested wheat field.
Excellent condition, never used.
