This is an antique veranda chair. An Anglo-Indian, oak bentwood colonial seat, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.
Graced with delightful forms and wonderful colour
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Distinctive oak bentwood frame presents fine grain interest
Rich caramel hues compliment the lighter bergere beautifully
Bowed top rail sits above a square section bergere cane back rest
Serpentine arms roll gently to scrolled terminus, uniting with the raked rear leg
Taut cane seat base in very good order, at a relaxed height of 39cm (15.25")
Stands upon a striking X-frame, presenting a fascinating profile
This is a dashing antique veranda chair, with great colour and bergere in very good order. A fine addition to any porch or conservatory. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
