About this item
1960s Danish Plum Rosewood Cabinet by Sejling Skabe
A handsome 1960s Danish cabinet by Sejling Skabe, crafted in richly figured plum rosewood and raised upon contrasting black screw-in feet. Its compact proportions and understated Scandinavian design make it an especially useful piece for smaller living spaces.
Full Description
A stylish and practical 1960s Danish rosewood cabinet by Sejling Skabe, displaying the clean lines, quality materials and functional approach synonymous with Scandinavian mid-century design.
Manufactured in Denmark during the 1960s and retaining its attribution mark, the cabinet is particularly attractive for the figuring and variation within the plum rosewood. The warm tones of the timber provide plenty of decorative interest, while the simple rectangular form and black screw-in feet retain a distinctly understated mid-century appearance.
The interior is currently without shelves, although the original shelf pins remain in position. Replacement shelves could therefore easily be made to suit the requirements of its new owner, providing flexible storage for books, media equipment, glassware or everyday household items.
Its proportions are particularly appealing. Measuring 110 cm wide, the cabinet provides useful enclosed storage while remaining considerably more compact than a traditional full-sized sideboard. This makes it an excellent choice for a smaller home, apartment or room where space is at a premium.
It would work especially well positioned alongside a chimney breast, either as a standalone Danish storage cabinet or with a television positioned above. Equally, its simple form allows it to function as a low cupboard within a living room, bedroom, dining space or home office.
A highly usable piece of Danish mid-century furniture, combining richly figured rosewood, restrained Scandinavian styling and compact dimensions suitable for modern interiors.

Ideal for a mid-century or contemporary interior where useful storage is required without the scale of a large sideboard. Its rich rosewood grain works particularly well against lighter walls and natural materials, while the compact width makes it well suited beside a chimney breast. Add a statement lamp, ceramics or artwork above for a simple Scandinavian-inspired arrangement.
