Very good quality Edwardian mahogany and satinwood strung serpentine front sideboard bearing the makers label of Maple & Co. Having a slight over sailing top over two shaped frieze drawers flanked by two tier pedestal drawers with one faux as a cupboard enclosing a single shelf the other housing a cellarette. Supported on tapering square legs terminating in a spade foot
Provenance the sideboard has come from Wartnaby Castle in Melton Mowbray the property is mentioned in Nicholas Pevsner’s The Building of England noted as a substantial house in the Little Belvoir estate built in 1839
Good condition with usual age related marks and wear
