About this item
A beautiful rare early enamel sign manufactured by the Wolverhampton enamel company chromo. A lovely rare Edwardian recruitment sign. Dating pre 1916 as it’s asking for volunteers as opposed to when conscription was introduced in 1916 for the First World War. At the time Britain’s was in a naval arms race with Germany To obtain the largest navy in the world. Would have originally resided on town halls and post offices. A rare enamel sign in any condition
condition
the sign has some enamel loss to the edges and various little chips across the sign where drill holes have been added but nice original gloss and strong colours. Some fading to the bottom lettering on the blue but a lovely enamel sign.
any questions please feel free to contact me
thankyou
