About this item
beautiful advertising card for mcewans beer. This very early showcard used a famous image of which the early wartime artist harry payne produced. who was famous for painting soliders and wartime images. He was a london based artist in the early 20th century. The card depicts a scottish guard and a royal guard drinking in a pub together along with a cheerful looking bartender. A cigarette in hand. At the back of the bar sits another showcard in which mcewans issued for their india ale which is a nice touch on the card. The slogan to the bottom reads mcewans beer is secound to none. Followed by there aproval from the company who was based in edinburgh hence the scottish solider present. an exceptional card advert. top end brewery advertising in my opinion.
Condition
The card is in nice original condition with wear and a couple of small rip as been pictured. A very rare original card. framed with no glass present.
any questions please feel free to contact me.
thankyou
