    About this item

This is a nice antique silver wine funnel and strainer, dating to the mid-18th century. It bears a date of London 1765 and a maker's mark for the silversmith William Skeen. It has an elegant swan-necked body with an applied reeded border and a pull-out hand-pierced strainer with an applied reeded border. With period initials on the strainer. The condition is good, the muslin ring has a split and the tip of the spout is rubbed, otherwise commensurate with its 258 years!
