About this item
An important George IV silver gilt snuff box with a cast medieval battle scene on the top. Made in Birmingham by one of the best snuff box makers Edward Smith in 1827. It has reeded sides and a crisp engine turned bottom with the initials "FGW" engraved. The 13 part hinge is tight and the lid fits snuggly. The top and bottom both have part hallmarks. The box is in great condition with very little wear to the high points. A great piece for your collection.
