    About this item

A superb William IV silver table snuff box with masonic signs and inscription. It was made in Birmingham in 1827 by Nathaniel Mills. The presentation box was "Presented to, Bro. James Leith P.G.D.C., By the brethren, of his Mother Lodge Thistle 87, as a mark of their esteem, for services rendered, Glasgow 1868". The box has an engine turned bottom and sides, the edges are cast with foliat scrolls. The 20 part concealed hinge is tight and the top fits well. The interior has original gilding with hallmarks top and bottom. An excellent quality snuff box.
