George III silver snuff box, by George Cowles, London 1781
An unusual George III silver upright snuff box. Made in London in 1781 by George Cowles. It is exceptionally well made and the hinge is very well hidden. There is original gilding and a full set of hallmarks inside. The lid forms a great seal and it opens with a satisfying "pop". There are contemporary initials on the top. It is in excellent condition and would make a great addition to any collection.
