About this item
A rare William IV silver castle top snuff box depicting Kennilworth Castle. Made by the expert silversmiths at Nathaniel Mills in Birmingham in 1837.The top has a crisply cast image of the castle with very little polishing to the high points. The 17 part hinge is tight and the top fits well. The interior is gilt with hallmarks on the top and bottom. All four sides and the base are engine turned and there is a crest and initials in the cartouch. A very collectable snuff box.
