    About this item

This is a massive “pocket” Watch which measures 105mm wide x 150mm long x 26mm deep. I have taken an image of it next to a normal 50mm wide watch to give you an idea of scale.

The watch comes in its original leather and silver case, which stands upright and would stand on a desk. It is very unusual to find these leather and silver cases. The majority are leather only or if they are silver, they have a smooth plain finish. This is highly decorative and the first examples I have seen

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is in 95% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a white metal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has a mirror finish inside and around the inside the bezel. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition – a slightly matt dull finish which is normal for watches like these which have sat in a case for a while. They can be professionally polished up beautifully

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 100% mint condition

The watch has its original glass

The watch is stem wound /pin set

The watch comes in its original leather case lined with green velvet and silk. The front of the case is then covered with silver with raised floral patterns and a large cartouche. The case has hallmarks for Birmingham 1909. The case measures 170mm x 140mm x 40mm and is in 95% mint condition
