    About this item

This is a large English silver fusee pocket watch with clear hallmarks for London 1892

The term fusee applies to the delicate internal chain used within the winding mechanism. This watch works well and keeps good time but because these fusee chains are very easy to break, we do not offer a warranty with this watch.

Movement – the large gilt full plate fusee movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance. The movement is signed “J B Adams & Sons, London” No 77309. The movement is jewelled throughout and is in 95% mint condition

The movement is protected by its gilt dust cap.

Case – the movement comes in a large open face case, which has a hinged back, which opens when you press the button in on the stem. The watch is wound from the back. The watch also has a hinged bezel and the watch is set from the front and also the movement is accessed from the front also by swinging out from the hinge at the 12.

The case has case makers marks for WD. The case has coin edged sides, engine turning and a vacant crest on the back. The case is in pristine mint condition – it look like it has not been used.

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt Breguet hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass

The watch measures 56mm wide x 20mm deep

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an old key
