    About this item

This is a wonderful Georgian silver tumbler cup, hallmarked for London 1767. It is a fine cup for drinking whisky or spirits, with a pale lemon gold gilding to the interior to "breathe fire" to illuminate the drink. This antique cup is in very good condition, with minor dints and traces of use. The side of the cup is neatly engraved with the owner's initials (presumably the original owner). The bottom of the cup bears a full set of hallmarks for London Sterling Silver 1767, the maker's mark of W.F "Unidentified" by Jackson and "not traced" by Grimwade. It may have been recorded in the lost 1758-1773 Largeworkers' Register (see last photo). The bottom is also scratch-engraved I.M. The tumbler cup is in good antique condition and gently rocks as it should. It is a nice antique cup that can still be used today!
