    About this item

A Boxed set of Silver Fish or Starter Knives and Forks, 1909.
The set has bone handles each stamped with a crest of a Hart (Stag). The blades of the knives, and the forks are engraved with scrolls and flowers and each one is hallmarked Birmingham 1909 by Elkington & Co. In original fitted case the lid inset with a brass shield engraved with the Hart. The inside of the case signed Elkington & Co LD. Liverpool.

Condition: The case is in excellent condition (no key). Some of the handles show typical hairline cracks which do not affect stability of the handles. Although these knives and forks would have undoubtably been made for use with the fish course they can been used with starter course and look wonderful on the table.
