    About this item

A George III circular silver salver by Elizabeth Jones, London 1784, of plain form engraved with armorial bearings perhaps for the Little family impaling Hallowes family (dexter, sable a salter argent impaling azure on a fess argent between three crescents or three torteaux) and with family crest of a leopards head affrontée in his colours (natural), with scallop and beaded edge on three ball and claw feet. The engraving is of excellent quality and in very good condition. A nice antique salver for serving drinks! She is known to have registered her mark on 15 January 1783 and specialized in the production of salvers and trays. Two pieces by Jones are in the collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, a George III teapot stand of 1783 and a George III tray of 1795. This is a very nice example of her work, in good antique condition.
