    Antique, English boxed silver christening set. The black leather case with gilt line decoration opens to oxblood silk and velvet lining. Knife, with mother of pearl handle,  the blade finely engraved with foliate decoration as are both the spoon and fork, all with inscribed monogram JM. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1879, with the marker’s mark H&T for Hilliard and Thomason (fl. 1837-1910), silver-makers of Spencer Street, Birmingham.
