About this item
Nice pair of 18th century silver serving spoons. Bright cut engraved oval cartouche to the handles with a husk garland hanging from a daisy flower and in the centre is a rampant lion as the family crest.
Hallmarked for London 1780, maker George Smith III. The marks are obscured on one and it has a double maker's mark.
They measure 21.3cm (8 3/8") long and 4.2cm (1 5/8") wide across the bowls. The bowls are 7.5cm (2 7/8") long. Total weight is 141g / 4.5ozt.
Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs and only minor handling wear.
