    About this item

A rare late 18th century silver apple corer with reeded detailing. The handle is a a well matched period replacement with similar reeding and flared fluting down the stem. The corer is hallmarked with the king's head and lion passant and the maker's mark is rubbed but appears to be that of the short lived partnership of Richard Carter, Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, c.1778/1779. The handle has maker's initials R.T, lion passant and date mark for 1803.

    It measures 15.2cm (6") long and weighs 42g / 1.3ozt.

In very good condition. As mentioned there is some rubbing to the marks inside the corer and a couple of very minor dinks to the handle.
