    About this item

A Worcester porcelain lobed square dessert serving dish with a rare print of the central part of The Carnation and Fruit Sprigs pattern. Shaded crescent mark to the base.

Branyan, French & Sandon, section II.C.23: The full pattern is classed as "rare" and only noted on a gadrooned edge plate with this arrangement of central flower and surrounding bugs and larger sprays being further surrounded with other bugs and fruiting sprigs. There is no reference to the pattern in this reduced arrangement, with reference only being made to a similar style print of a gillyflower II.C.22. There are two tiny sprigs that have been added in on this dish also.

    It measures 21.6cm (8 1/2") wide and 3.5cm (1 3/8") high.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Minimal handling wear but there is a bit of minor bleeding of the blue from manufacture.
