    About this item

An exceptionally large William IV Scottish silver jug, made in Edinburgh by James McKay. This was most likely made as a beer or wine jug because of the large proportions. It is in magnificent condition with no damage or repairs. There are a full set of very legible hallmarks on the neck, the lid is also part marked. There is a Green Man mask just below the spout and embossed leaves on the handle. This is an absolutly amazing piece of Scottish silver, great for display or very useable. The best example of this type of  uniquely Scottish jug that I have seen.

    WEIGHT; 958grams or 31ozst.
