An attractive George III silver teapot stand with muli-reeded rim and set on four simple cabriole legs. Bright cut engraved decoration in friezes around the outside and a laurel wreath to the centre framing an interesting family crest with a shield including a winged gryphon and three axes and surmounted by a hippocampus. The family motto "Vive Ut Simper Vivas" runs in a scroll below. Hallmarked London 1803, makers Alice & George Burrows II.
It measures 14.8cm (5 13/16") by 11.8cm (4 5/8") wide and 2.2cm (7/8") high and weighs 121g / 3.9ozt.
