About this item
Pretty silver mustard pot of round bellied shape set on 3 finely cast lion head and paw feet. Gadrooned style shaped rim, double scroll handle and the hinged cover has a central dome and a scallop shell thumb rest. Fitted with what appears to be the original blue glass liner.
Hallmarked to the base for Sheffield 1903, maker J & J Maxfield Ltd and partial marks to the cover.
It measures 7.8cm (3 ") high, 8.5cm (3 3/8") handle to rim and 6.4cm (2 1/2") wide. It weighs in total 204g, silver weight 131g / 4.2ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage, dents or repairs. Light surface wear, a couple of small light marks and little more wear on the cover around the handle terminal. Inside the silver has more sign of wear but this clearly cannot be seen with the liner in place. Ready for use.
