About this item
A nice Georgian silver sugar caster of baluster form, with later engraved decoration of wrythen bands and floral panels and a vacant cartouche. Hallmarked to the base for London 1777, maker Robert Palmer I. Partial marks to the cover.
It measures 13cm (5 1/8") high and 5cm (2") wide. It weighs 80g / 2.6ozt.
Condition is very good. There is a small join can be seen to the lower part of the cover. No damage or repair, it stands well, minor signs of age and use. Some rubbing to the engraved decoration to the cover, hallmarks to the base are clear in the main, second part of maker's initials obscured and marks inside the cover are pretty rubbed due to their location.
